After each use, hang your clothing to air out. This helps prevent the buildup of odors and bacteria, reducing the risk of material degradation. For heavily soiled items, rinse promptly to avoid stains. Before washing, ensure all pockets are empty, and close all zips and fastenings. Turn garments inside out for optimal care and to protect any prints.
Load your washing machine according to its capacity guidelines, as over- or under-loading can impact wash quality.
Washing Tips: Wash similar colors together to avoid color transfer, and select the coldest water setting. Our products are designed to be washed at 30°C. Washing at 30°C can save approximately 40% of your annual energy usage. Additionally, using a shorter spin cycle reduces both water and energy consumption while still achieving a thorough clean. For all running clothing, choose a low-spin program.
Drying Tips: Avoid using a tumble dryer, as the heat can damage both natural and synthetic fibers. To maintain the fit and quality, always air dry your items. Air drying not only extends the life of your garments but also saves on energy costs associated with machine drying.
Special Care for Cotton Products: Cotton items should generally be kept out of the dryer. Heat and fast spinning can damage the fibers, causing them to shrink, lose their shape, and reduce their softness. Additionally, repeated tumble drying weakens the fibers, leading to faster wear and reduced durability. To keep cotton products in top condition, it’s best to air dry them.
Please note: Cotton products naturally tend to shrink slightly due to the structure of cotton fibers. At Toujours Actif, we’ve accounted for this natural characteristic in our design process. Our products are made to accommodate this initial shrinkage, ensuring that after the first wash, each piece achieves the perfect fit, so you can enjoy the ideal balance of comfort and style from the very first wear.
