Why We Run
Nichlas Weber
"If I had to describe running, I’d say it’s my way of landing in myself again. It’s my small break, where I get to be alone - but in the best possible way.”
Running - from chaos to clarity
Nichlas Weber is a 36 year old sauna master, community-builder at Plugin in Copenhagen, and content creator focusing on communication, dating, and personal growth. His everyday life rarely follows a traditional routine. Some days are filled with sauna sessions, others with filming, creative work, and social commitments - and somewhere in between, he fits in his runs whenever his body and mind call for it.
What began as a simple way to regain control slowly grew into something much deeper. After years marked by instability, overstimulation, and unhealthy patterns, running became a grounding force - a ritual that helped him rebuild not only his physical strength but also his mental clarity.
“I started running about four years ago because my body and mind needed a healthy fix. After years with too much chaos and unhealthy habits, I needed something that could ground me and give me a sense of forward motion - without costing me anything other than energy.”
Running gave him the reset he was missing. It became a place where he could breathe, slow down, and find balance in a life that was finally beginning to point in the right direction.
One of his proudest moments came in 2023, when he completed the Copenhagen Marathon in 03:37 - a milestone he still carries with him.
“There was something in me that landed there. I think it was the first time in my life where I felt genuine pride all the way into my body.”
That race became more than a finish line. It marked a turning point - a reminder that he was capable of far more than he once believed. And ever since, running has continued to anchor him, push him, and reconnect him with the version of himself he had always hoped to grow into.
“Running has become my way to reconnect with myself, to quiet the mental noise, and to find balance in a busy life. Toujours Actif resonates with me because it reflects this same philosophy - being active without pressure, choosing presence over performance, and moving in a way that feels natural and grounded.”

Running as Self-Connection and Identity
For Nichlas, running isn’t about hitting weekly mileage goals, ticking off races, or chasing the next personal best. Some weeks he runs 15 km, other weeks 30 km, and lately, life has been so busy that he hasn’t been running as much as he knows he needs.
But the numbers don’t define him.
“I don’t run for metrics. I run to feel good.”
Over the years, his reason for running has shifted profoundly. In the beginning, he ran away from something - stress, mental noise, and old habits that no longer served him. Today, he runs towards something - his future, his health, and a life he truly wants to be present in.
Running has become his way to reconnect with himself. It’s a moment of solitude, a chance to land in his own body, quiet the mental chatter, and simply be.
“If I had to describe running, I’d say it’s my way of landing in myself again. It’s my small break, where I get to be alone - but in the best possible way.”
Values, Identity & Toujours Actif
As Nichlas has grown older, running apparel and brand identity have become more important to him - not for flashy logos or technical gimmicks, but for alignment with his values and mindset. He is drawn to brands that feel grounded, honest, and calm - brands that reflect presence and intention rather than performance hype.
“I don’t go for flashy branding - I go for something that feels grounded, honest, and active in a calm way.”
That’s why Toujours Actif resonates so strongly with him. The brand embodies an approach he believes in: training doesn’t have to be extreme, being active isn’t about “beast mode,” and running can be therapy rather than a competition.
“Running isn’t my sport - it’s my therapy.”
His favorite Toujours Actif pieces are the hoodie, running vest and running pants - a combination that feels natural, effortless, and authentic. The apparel mirrors who he is as a runner: not fast, not flashy, but present, grounded, and intentional.
“It shows that I don’t run to be fast - I run to be present. And at the same time, it signals that I believe in an active lifestyle.”
Reflection & Personal Growth
Nichlas’ journey is one of rebuilding. Running helped him move away from chaos and toward clarity. It helped him find balance in a life that once felt overwhelming - and it continues to be a place where he reconnects with himself.
His advice to others is simple, honest, and deeply rooted in experience:
“Run for your mind - not your time.”
Find a feeling, not a pace.
